As part of Environment Canada’s “Turning the Corner” plan, regulations concerning the reduction of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions are expected to be finalized in 2009 and come into effect January 1, 2010. Upon implementation, the regulations would prohibit the manufacture, sale or import of architectural coatings with VOC concentrations in excess of prescribed levels.
